Red Loons have sent the following letter to Indeed brewing management encouraging them to settle a fair contract with their employees, who unionized over a year ago!

The workers, united, will never be defeated.
Dear Indeed Management: Soccer. Beer. Labor. We are the Red Loons and that is our creed. We are a group of Minnesota United supporters who are just as passionate about fostering a culture of strong workers rights as we are about cheering on our team. We stand behind your hard working employees as they seek to bind together two of our three loves: beer and labor. These folks have been fighting for too long for a fair contract and deserve a willing partner who will negotiate in good faith to deliver what every employee deserves: fair wages, workplace safety, and equitable procedures. As a supporters group we strive to build a strong community where we all do better. Its time to step up and agree to a strong future for your employees and in turn the greater MSP community. Today we honor the struggles of generations before us who fought for and won weekends and the 40 hour work week, workplace safety, paid time off, the right to collectively bargain, and so much more. We must protect those gains and push forward toward a society where the gains of economic prosperity are broadly amongst those whose labor makes it possible. Today: celebrate. Tomorrow: organize.

Happy Juneteenth! 160 years ago the door was shut on the conception that a person could own another person, and that that arrangement ought to be determined by the color of one's skin. For the 100 years that followed, Jim Crow and sharecropping ("slavery lite") had an iron grip on the south, and those African Americans fleeing north faced redlining and steep discrimination. We are only a generation into de jure equality and we have a ways to go before reaching the dream of full racial equity. Let today be a reminder of how far we have come and how far we still have yet to go.
