Reside in Arbroath

Iinterested in the Great War, history in general, good music and cats.

My main research project that of the experience of those who were awarded the 1914 & 1914/15 star for initially serving abroad with the Black Watch.
So a magical must descended and they were never seen again, yes?

Anyone in the U.K., who lives further than a days return drive to Kew, is very unlikely to access our nations archives for free. London is eye waveringly expensive to visit and stay overnight.

It’s the brutal Kew copying fee or independent researcher services as options.

Hmm I wonder if it’s that there’s not loads of them.

Thanks, that’s interesting.

Pretty sure it’s the 2nd HLI with the location closest confirmed as Boulogne.

There must be no shortage of misattributed images about.

Very likely 2nd HLI, as Chris has identified the location as Boulogne and cap badge fits.
August 29, 2025 at 1:25 PM
As Chris has identified it as Boulogne, 2nd HLI it is.
Thanks Tom.
