You can go "Oh but WoW is better about representation" and if you get positives out of that, that's great. But to me it rings hollow after watching Blizzard throw out gay characters to cover up their toxic ass work culture and lawsuits.

It doesn't mean as much even if it's "technically better"

It's also not like Yoshi P and other core devs haven't constantly voiced support of LGBTQ+ people, that's the entire reason they started removing the gender locks on gears.

Bro they 1:1 recreated the Big Romance Cutscene from FF8 with a gigantic rainbow crystal in the background. I can agree it'd be cool if they kissed too but like. Pretending that isn't also gay as fuck is insane.

Idk man it's a double issue because I see people go "I wish FFXIV could be gayer" and I go "Yeah I agree" but then I see people talk about Eden as if it's some horrible example of representation and I'm completely fucking clueless on how you could land on that

Which is cool as hell! But why is it in a short story on the website instead of in the game directly

They release side stories on their website after every expansion as a little bonus, and the one about Erenville touches on how Viera are genderless until they reach maturity and then decide for themselves what gender they are --

I instantly saved it dude, that really is just how some people see the game now
