That last bit by Zak - about creating the spaces for communities to get together, to integrate is so important and what we really need in the UK right now.

Government cutting Students coming to UK means Universities need more money to survive, as they can't get overseas students fees, so Government is forced to subsidise the Universities more and thus put up student fees.

Yes but, wouldn’t it be better if all fares were at one cheaper price, especially on a railway like yours which is turn up and go
Time bound tickets are also a stressful travel experience, as you have to be there at a locked specific time and unnecessary when trains are every 15-30 minutes anyway

Have you noticed Greens and Lib Dems have been included on our TV screens a lot more lately by BBC and Sky News.
That has meant they now have 29% of the electorate between them.
Amazing what a bit of honest publicity gets!

Also, Peak fares are not the problem, it would be a better fix is getting a base fare not hundreds of special discount prices.
Simplify structure for passengers with one price at Peak and one off peak, rather than myriad of advances & complex different fares across routes.

Article has errors for example it uses London only figures to represent "London & the South" - actually South-West region has less rail investment per head than Yorkshire. And Southeast figure biased by rail investments that avoids most of the Southeast population like EWR.

Locally we understood that the first gig was actually in the Greyhound on the Brighton Road - no proof but just what's been said - this is now private houses, and another Venue lost to Redhill, like the Lakers.

Redstart meets every Friday in the Home Cottage - we know the place well, and this story, so are trying to get the Landlord to put a Cure plaque on the wall.
From Lol's book it seems they named "Fiction Records" and agreed the principle of their record deal in the Home Cottage.
