Is this For Cause and Comrade? The average Union soldier had more political insight than the DC political class.

I vaguely remember George Jetson being competent, but I haven't watched that show since childhood. And of course you still had Sheriff Andy to show a positive example of masculinity. I think the last solid man in a sit-com is Uncle Phil.

Well it's still a damn sight better than his prior job.

Isn't that what Humbert Humbert did?

Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

None can love freedom but good men; the rest love not freedom, but license, which never hath more scope than under tyrants. License they mean when they cry, Liberty!

All of these people need mandatory liberal arts re-education. Exile them to a picturesque college nestled somewhere in rural America with a 4 digit student headcount. No screens of any kind and they have to read the classics from Socrates to Zora Neale Hurston until they can think properly again.

This seems like a good time to pitch my idea for bettering the youth: hot-rods for phones. Every teen that gives up their phone will get their very own 1950s style hot-rod. We will improve attention spans, stimulate industry, and shed our cultural malasie via songs about cars.

I've long thought that there should be a sequel to Romeo+Juliet in which an older Claire Danes regrets picking Leonardo DiCaprio over Paul Rudd. I think all 3 would be game for it.

Scrolling X these days feels like I'm reading the internal monologue of a violent schizophrenic.

I daresay you are making the mistake of taking this as a good faith document to be read at face-value, instead of the conspiracy minded ravings of an Internet Nazi.

Ah, the historically deep roots of Gulf monarchies.

For indeed none can love freedom heartily, but good men; the rest love not freedom, but license; which never hath more scope or more indulgence than under Tyrants

Apropos of nothing, I'm a strong believer that cluster B personality disorders are really just a presentation of PTSD.

Twitter is a Nazi hall of mirrors. It's worse than 4chan. Even if you win individual arguments the feed buries you in Nazi slop. There's no point in engaging there.

It's the fundamental error of a hierarchical worldview: those at the top are good and right, so their ideas can't be wrong.

That's what the FBI can never understand - that what Paulie and the organization offer is protection for the kinds of guys who can't go to the cops. They're like the police department for wiseguys.

I really hate armchair diagnosis and I'm skeptical of the DSM anyway, but Hegseth is a textbook narcissist and sociopath. He will always do what a sniveling little bully does.
