Yup, the game sees 1 pitch as equal in value to 1 dmg in this way.

So if you're deciding to run the yellow version of a card you're making the decision to reduce the dmg by 1 and increase the pitch value by 1. If you run the blue you decided to reduce the dmg by 2 but increase pitch value by 2.

Generally there are fewer cards with go again than without. The most recent set has 250 cards and about 75 of them have it, and in many cases it's conditional.

So all you need to know is that blue snatch does two damage in order to know that yellow does 3 and red 4.

There's only one version of majestics but if there were multiple versions of Command and Conquer then the yellow would do 5 dmg and blue would do 4.

It doesn't change that it's a lot to handle for someone just getting into the game but FWIW, the colors apply to every card in the same way so the mental shorthand is still there. Once you understand how the system works it's fundamentally the same.
