Certified Health Physicist, Radiation Safety Officer, >25 years in nuclear medicine production
I was a lab assistant in NFAS (one of the last) when the first women came through and went to power school with the first ones. It was funny how freaked out some instructors were.

Fucked up thing is I was more angry at my brother than I was at my father.

takes his belt off. "Did you take it?!" NO! WHACK!! My brothers turn. "Did you take it?!" NO! WHACK!! Back and forth this went on until brother cracked and confessed. His punishment was chores to pay back what he'd stole and the beating he just took. don't think I even got an apology for my beating.

For years lifting kept my trauma at bay until I blew up my shoulder. Drinking replaced lifting, severe depression, suicide attempt, etc. 15 years later I'm sober and training for a powerlifting meet. Nice to know science backs up my experience.

No IR. The isotope is linked to a targeting molecule (antibody, peptide, etc.) that has specific affinity for the tumor type to be treated. This process is what we do. The hospital infuses this from a vial through IV.

I'm the radiation safety officer for a new CDMO that will soon be manufacturing these. There are a few very promising isotopes in early phase clinical trials. I've been in nuc med manufacturing for 25 years and this is the most exciting time the field has ever seen.
