There's what... 50k streetlights? So $5M for the full retrofit and eliminate carbon emissions. Plus there's tons of local solar installers who would love that contract, winning jobs.

Agree. I guess my point is that you could replace all street lights with (1) LED bulbs that retail for $50 each (2) a single solar panel that retails for about $250 (3) a battery backup for around $250. You could retrofit an entire streetlight for $1k and make it zero emission. Across the city?

Granted that there's low demand on a cool fall day, but I do wonder if there's appetite from the City to increase solar production at City-owned facilities (and partnership with AISD to do the same there)
