Better a govt shut down than to just hand them the key like you seem to want to.

There will definitely be a name for this event in history books, regardless of what the future holds for the US govt and democracy.

Whereas, what you did was good for public morale, if nothing else, but I do feel it was much more.

I really wish your fellow democrat legislators would have taken the same approach. As someone who has always been a deep blue state constituent, I really wish the dem leadership would do more because the existing displays feel indistinguishable from capitulation.

Also, that dem unified messaging with all the videos of people saying the exact same thing was wild and I think it didn’t have the impact y’all were going for, unfortunately/any real impact. It didn’t make any sense. Same with the wearing colors thing.

I don’t think this hits enough. I propose a revision to this, maybe “Epstein’s best pals” or “R*pist Party” or maybe like “the pedophilic grifters”. Ideally it would just be “the traitors”. For those who wish for something politically correct just “Benedict Arnold”.

Though I imagine part of it is that legislators are literally afraid of what might happen to them, if trump and his admin manage to drive the final nails into the coffin of our here democracy and the American Experiment we have.

I’m so disappointed in the democratic leaders right now. I’m certain there would be a lot more (even more) public outcry across the nation amongst the general public if the dems and other folks who are dissenting to the destruction of our government would make more of a public show of it.
