Your gentle reminder: libraries are a privilege. So many people in the global south don’t have access to them. Many people in the US or UK don’t have access to them. “Go to the library” is only a fix all solution if your activism excludes the global south and those in deprived areas.
Toddlers are so funny. Tell me why my 3 year old niece just got me up to go to the bathroom at 5am and randomly decided she needed to brush her teeth

Please can we stop glorifying books with actively harmful representation just because they have a fun aesthetic or big plot twist

My wife is trans and diabetic. The US isn’t safe or affordable to exist for us and I don’t make the £30’000 needed for us to move to the UK. We’ve been together almost 7 years. Married for 3. And we still can’t live in the same country together. We need help. We can’t do this forever.

Spent the night in the ER with a family member, and I was the only person there-health care professionals included-masked. My mum laughed at me, and then when we left complained that her throat was staring to get sore. She didn’t see the irony.

Just saw someone say that if you can’t afford books and don’t have access to a library then you should just read on AO3. As great as AO3 is, who says they have consistent internet access? They also deserve literature that isn’t a byproduct of existing stories that come with no context.

Gonna start trying to build community here whilst also posting and spreading info about Palestine on the ex-bird app. Let’s try this.

Hi, I’m Jessie, I’m a writer and book reviewer and I want to make some Bluesky friends 😂
