Obviously quite different, but my mother and I both speak French, and she has been learning Spanish- so she often texts me in Spanish and I’m usually able to understand because if there isn’t a French cognate there’s often an English one

Yeah basically- the divide is between AI as a scientific hypothetical (hasn’t happened, probably won’t happen for millennia if at all), and AI as a marketing term (can mean anything at all, usually refers to basic pattern recognition and mimicry)

If someone was asked to write an analysis of the first world war and handed in a doodle of a smiley face and “woke is gud cos i like woke”, that would present an opposite worldview- but it would have exactly the same academic rigour and relevance to the question as that paper. And it would get 0/25.

I get the point you’re going for, but it’s not up to date with contemporary scholarship on the subject- it’s more or less beyond question at this point that the month was named after spring fertility goddesses, attested in votive offerings and theophoric toponyms and consistent with IE patterns.
