Their decisions and choices based on these emotions and sense of duty will also influence the overall outcome. One of the things I like about Arcane and fantasy in general is how personal feelings and emotions can influence the course of the overall story,cause that's how it works in real life too.

They have completely different beliefs and moral views. Each of them has her own vision of the fate of her people. And every situation constantly forces them to choose between love or their morals and beliefs, love or their people and duty.

So, in my fic, this is a story about two lovers who constantly find themselves on opposite sides during wars. They both love and hate each other at the same time. They try to stop it, but they can't help themselves because love is stronger.

This isn't exactly a new ship, there are several fanfics about them on ao3. According to the lore, they're just best friends from childhood, but I realized that the plot would make more sense and hit harder if they were in love with each other.

And at this point, Vladimir has to play both sides. He tries with all his might not to open up to Mel because he has been lying his whole life, because it is safer that way. Mel, on the other hand, is faced with the choice of whether to accept his dark side and his past.

And Mel is fighting Black Rose. So at first they try to manipulate each other, until they realize that for them it has become much more serious than just a game or a fight.

If you read the lore, Vladimir actually has a very dark and dramatic past, even worse than Astarion's in BG3. He also founded the Black Rose with LeBlanc. But he doesn't agree with her on everything, so he's more on his own side.

I believe that he is truly her equal in terms of magic, strength, and political skills. At the same time, they are both very bad at recognizing and talking about their feelings. This is a relationship that could be truly equal in all senses.

This is a slow burn from enemies to lovers. While reading the lore, I suddenly realized that Vladimir is the perfect match for Mel. They both have traumas, they are smart, cunning, and very good at intrigue.

I also want the ultimate salvation of the world to depend on Viktor, Jayce and Mel. That's why it's so important that he's unstable.

So here I constantly do two things: I make Viktor face all his fears, and I make Jayce test his morals and how far he can go for Viktor's sake. I make him choose between love and doing the right thing, and he often fails at this choice, but still keeps Viktor from falling into total darkness.

Viktor is like a glass cannon here. He's a powerful mage who has poor self-control and is gradually slipping into darkness, while Jayce tries to prevent this from happening, but because of their codependent relationship, it's quite difficult for him.

But magic has its price, and just like in Arcane, it affects his mind, so Jayce is the only one who can sometimes reach out to him and bring him to his senses, and he has to do this quite often.

There's less smut because I focus more on events, dialogue, and character development. This fic not only about love, it's about friendship, life and all its parts, difficult choices. It's also heavily anti-war shit.

So I not only drew a map of Noxus and plans of their house, but I also write each character's pov and develop events slowly and sequentially, as they would in a book.I also try to write in such a way that I don't say too much directly, and the reader has to think about it.
