They also need to be rewritten and republished with a design and layout that doesn’t look like it was prepared on a typewriter

The AS system needs to go.
Either Federal Government needs to compulsory acquire them to make them free for everyone, or they need to build a new publicly available set that becomes the referenced standards.
The system is currently not fit for purpose.
