I do not trust either number to be accurate. Both ends are agenda driven and it’s just too convenient for it to it 12 million (just over the exact goal of 3.5%).
The goal should be to have the turnout so obviously large that no one can question the numbers.

I think fear is driving people to respond with attacks. The key is to understand it is the fear talking and practice grace.
And the other key is to not let fear drive us to act against our higher values.
Both must happen for civil dialogue to survive.

As a person of Faith on Bluesky I experience it all the time. I chalk it up to people who have been hurt by religion lashing out at the nearest target. Plus I occupy a place of privilege in general, so I kind of deserve the arrows.

For those calling them evil & enemies & to live with their choices.
If they are willing to see the error of their ways on this issue, maybe they are open on other issues.
If we don’t demonize them, we can win them over.
Then we can work towards solving them problems they caused.
