🌱 Imagine how much richer the moors could be if they were owned by the community as a whole. We could restore them to their former glory, and we’d all benefit from cleaner air, reduced flood risk and abundant wildlife as a result.

📣 It’s time to reclaim our moors.

🎶 We sang songs, listened to speeches, ate cake, and saw first hand how degraded the condition of the land is after years of being scoured of wildlife by gamekeepers who kill anything that could affect gamebird numbers.

🥾 Just shy of 200 people joined us up at Moscar Moor today to mark the start of the shooting season and united around our call for this huge grouse shooting estate in the Peak District to be taken into community ownership.

🥾 Hike ~3km easygoing trail to a meeting point where we will gather for speeches and music

🥾 Visiting Moscar, a grouse moor bordering Sheffield owned by the Duke of Rutland.

🪶 People were angry at the sorry state of the land, due to it being managed for grouse shooting at the expense of all other life

💷 We’re offering the Duke £1 to take it off his hands as it is in such a poor state.

🎉 Fun times on Saturday at our inaugural meeting where we decided to offer the Duke of Rutland £1 to buy Moscar Moor off him, as it is in such a sad and sorry state.
