Decades long activist to make electric vehicles (EVs) a means of transportation to replace internal combustion engine cars. Passionate advocate for renewable energy and its widespread adoption.
Following the Reichstag fire, Hitler's Nazis arrested thousands of communists, & implemented the Reichstag Fire Decree, which suspended civil liberties & allowed for widespread persecution of political opponents. This act further solidified Nazi Party control & paved the way for a dictatorship.

"Should fascism come to power, it will ride over your skulls & spines like a terrific tank." ~Leon Trotsky
The quote above was a warning to the German communist party (1932) about allying with fascists/Nazis. They ended up being blamed for the burning of the Reichstag by Hitler who had them killed.

Tariffs and tax cuts are a way to steal money from people like you and me, and hand that money to the very rich. Here is what is happening.

Spain is planning to shut down its seven nuclear reactors by the end of the decade & close its last coal plant this year. Targeting 81% power generation from renewables by 2030. A substantial wager on energy storage to rapidly expand from just 3 gigawatts of capacity today to 20 gigawatts by 2030.

In the first quarter of 2025, venture capitalists & private equity firms poured more than $5 billion into climate tech startups in the U.S., a near 65% increase over a year ago, according to data from market intelligence firm PitchBook. Global trend dropped 10% in the quarter. [par] ~Bloomberg Green

America’s solar industry has been hoarding panels. The stockpile is now so big that analysts estimate there’s roughly 50 gigawatts worth in warehouses. It’s enough to temporarily blunt the impacts of US President Donald Trump’s recently announced tariffs. ~ Bloomberg Green ~(photo: Solarhome Store)

BYD raised $5.6 billion in Hong Kong. Another warning tremor ahead of what is to be a Chinese tidal wave heading for the world’s carmakers. Those who’ve dragged their feet on the switch to electric vehicles better act quickly, or they’re going to get swamped. "par" ~ Bloomberg's David Fickling

Homeowners are socking away power ... Those with solar panels, meanwhile, can power their homes more cheaply by keeping the electrons they generate instead of selling them back to the grid, which typically pays lower rates than the retail price of electricity. ~Bloomberg Green

Residential electricity rates in California have risen 78% from January 2019 to Jan 2025, reaching 33¢ per kilowatt-hour from 18¢ per kW-hour. Trouble is PG&E & SCE off-peak electricity rates have risen & now match average electricity cost, which have been edging closer to gasoline. BloombergNEF

According to Ford, the Ford E-Transit electric van is now priced the same as its gasoline-powered Transit counterpart, reaching price parity with comparable gas models. This marks the first time that an EV's standard price matches the standard price of its gasoline equivalent. #EV

Wind & solar to overtake everything in Brazil by 2050. “Gas is not cheap in Brazil, oil is not cheap in Brazil, but solar & wind are the cheapest source of electricity. So even if you’re NOT aiming to net zero, economically-wise it makes sense to build renewables.” Vinicius Nunes, a BNEF researcher.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) plan to link all 10 member countries into a sprawling regional supergrid, which would allow them to access renewable energy & accelerate their transition away from fossil fuels.

... small delivery vans to big rigs traveling across countries, were once considered the hardest segment in road transport to switch to batteries, which formed the basis for sustained demand for oil.

Did you even look at the sources I posted? 68 years ago nuclear promised that the electricity it produced would be too cheap to even meter. Started as very expensive & only went up. Solar is now 6 times cheaper than nuclear. Who's going to pay 6x more for the same electricity? It can't compete.

Whatever you've been told about the cost of SMRs was incorrect.

Nuclear is not economically viable. It is too expensive, takes too long & is beset by uncertainty like cost overruns, delays & accidents. The cost of nuclear, the most expensive form of electric production, keeps going up & up, while renewables, the least expensive, keep going down. Nuclear is over.

Fact: Wind turbines (WT) do not kill birds in great numbers.
Fact: Color one of the props darker reduces bird strikes by up to 70%, & WT makers are experimenting with sensors that detect flocks & shut WTs down, reducing bird strikes even more.
Fact: WTs kill 1.8 billion fewer birds than cats do.

Driven by economies of scale & increasing competition prices of 300 to 400 kW DC fast chargers averaged $58,100 in 2024, a 26% drop in 2 years. The lowest cost in the US & Europe was 30% below the average, while in China they were as much as 63%. (BloombergNEF) #blueev #EV #electricvehicles #energy

Not "seen as" but "used as" a Gestapo. I don't know how many people I've come across who can't get it in their heads fascism has arrived in the US. They forget that we have already had a dress rehersal. There were plenty of bad actors willing to be unspeakably cruel last time around. Just say NO.

GMT Research who exposed Evergrande, is raising the alarm over Chinese EV giant BYD. BYD is presenting certain liabilities as part of working capital when borrowed against, only treating 90+ day payables as liabilities. BYD’s true net debt as of June 30, 2024 was abt. $44.1 billion. #blueev #EV

Battery prices declined in 2024 over 2023 dropping 20% to $115 per kilowatt-hour. Prices are expected to decrease further driven by overcapacity, economies of scale, lower metals prices & a shift to lower-cost LFP batteries. Average global battery prices in 2025 may reach $109 per kWh. ~BNEF #blueev

(Bloomberg) In 2024, 90% of Chinese EV sales were from domestic automakers. International automakers have responded by closing factories, laying off workers, buying stakes in Chinese rivals & launching lower-priced EVs. They misjudged the speed in which China was able to pivot to EVs. #blueev #ev

Bloomberg NEF (BNEF) expects new BEVs & PHEVs sales to increase to 22 million, around 27% in 2025, up from about 21% in 2024. 13.4 million, some 16%, of those sales predicted will be pure EVs. They also foresee around 14.5 million EVs sold in China representing 65% globally. #blueev #electric #EV
