My grandpa Joe Stone was a (Jewish) doctor in the British Army division that liberated #Belsen, becoming heavily involved in the rehabilitation of the survivors there. He later said the experience turned his hair white overnight.

Very moving event for #HolocaustMemorialDay at Princes Road synagogue about the genocide of Europe’s Roma, with wonderful music from Swing Trio Manouche.

Liverpool is a city of immigrants - home to the oldest Chinese community in Europe, the oldest African community in Britain, the oldest mosque in Britain, and one of the oldest Jewish communities.
Such a treat to see a fantastic klezmer band perform inside the 150 yr old Princes Rd synagogue today.

Love the juxtaposition of the trad Playhouse Theatre with the sixties radio tower seeming to grow out the top of it #Liverpool

Cycling in Liverpool has been better than I’d expected (still a long way to go to catch up with London infrastructure though). This car-free ride along the river is wonderful, especially at sunset 🌅
