We are literally in a second Gilded Age.

Pls help share story of Richard - the man shot by DHS on 10/21 despite NO CRIM RECORD. He's a beloved father w/awards from the city of Los Angeles, & inspired walkouts from local high schools today.

It appears he was targeted & entrapped to stop his indpt reporting on ICE

Wonder if he thinks Richard Parias is someone they "got wrong." He had NO criminal record & is a beloved citizen journalist in Los Angeles.

Richard's detention is a clear case of DHS intentionally targeting someone solely due to his independent reporting and their desire to quash it. It is entrapment, a manufactured criminal case against a beloved, charismatic, and peaceful father who has been part of this community for decades.

His lawyer described the difference it makes when local communities demand that civil rights are maintained and insist on warrants and/or court orders. For Richard, the hospital staff and security physically put their bodies in place so that the attorneys were able to enter the hospital room.

He is currently held at Dignity Health California Medical Center downtown, & his immigration lawyer was just able to gain access to him for the first time.

HOWEVER, DHS is turning this into a criminal case because of how Richard tried to get away in his car.

He has no past criminal charges.

The man that was shot by ICE on 10/21 is a beloved local TikTok creator & independent reporter known as Richard LA.

Richard has been doing incredible coverage of ICE raids & was honored by the city of Los Angeles for his work keeping families informed.
