Unfortunately, I fear the US is too far gone. The levers of power are so corrupt, that they are covering up a scandal in broad daylight. It doesn’t end when trump goes. The machinery is entrenched, and the dems are fragmented and powerless.

He’s got a big majority. Levison 2, ofcom more teeth, remove Tory leadership in bbc current affairs, create new laws around bias and lies, Huge fines for bullshit, clear divide between news and entertainment. New laws to prevent foreign and offshore tax haven media ownership. He could do a lot.

They need to learn the lessons from the US election. It doesn't matter how good the economy is, how high the stock markets are, how low unemployment is. If people don't feel like they are better off, they will happily vote for the liars who promise them the world.

Capitalism is eating itself. I think the people at the top of the pile know this and are now clawing in as much as they can to get them comfortably through the end times. Meanwhile, the poor are a growing majority angered by the situation, and are electing far right liars to solve their problems.

Musk thinks this gives him carte blanche to do and say what he wants. What he is yet to realise is that Trump is an uber cunt and won't think twice about stabbing him in the back. Just one headline from a big media outlet along the lines of, "President Musk is in Control", and boom! Musk is fucked.

I keep saying it. Unless Starmer gets a grip of the media in the UK, he isn't seeing another term, and the country will go the way of the US. He has to clamp down on billionaire ownership, foreign ownership, non dom ownership, and the blatant lying and bias.

My guess is he shat himself because of the inevitable media backlash, so forced her to resign. If Labour made inroads into the bullshit media bias and their chase for sensational "news", he wouldn't need to worry so much. He hasn't even removed the Tories from heading up BBC current affairs.

An indication that the far right, dictator wannabes have a more engaging narrative with msm and social media reinforcing it. The left need to find a more compelling narrative. Data and facts don’t cut through like populist bullshit does.

It doesn’t really prevent anything. China can simply relabel “made in [another country]” and reroute goods through [another country]. Trump would then have to play whack a mole with tariffs on other countries. Before you know it half the world has imposed retaliatory tariffs.

I think this is tactical. Charges dismissed without prejudice, so the case can be brought again in 2028. Otherwise there was a danger trump, as president, could squash the case with prejudice, killing it forever. 4d chess is being played out.
