Today on "What's Cool About My Job": stone tools. These are just a fraction of what we have, but I particularly like the stone axe (a genuine artefact from the South Pacific, I think) and the replica mucuahuitl (Aztec obsidian club/sword). Cool artefacts for the students to study.

This week on "What's Cool About My Job": hominid footprints. We have two awesome casts in our teaching collection. One is of a Neanderthal burial and this one is of a Neanderthal footprint next to a Homo sapiens footprint. This was taken from the original fossil and is very cool.
