4 years of work, writing, research & collaboration; a lifetime of thinking. ‘The Book of Mysteries: Wild Time and The Ritual Year’ final edits went off to @pushkinpress.com on Friday - feels like a birth and a death all at the same time! Which, honestly, is very apt.

If you’ll be at Ledbury Poetry Festival this month, it’d be great to see you at this event!

I’ll be discussing ‘Weird England’ on the 28th with brilliant poet Zaffar Kunial
and brilliant folklorist and writer Lally MacBeth. 🌝🌿🌝🌿

Recently finished @biidaasamose.bsky.social’s stunning work of environmental enquiry, thought & philosophy ‘Theory of Water.’

It considers Nishnaabe indigenous approaches to the land, to colonial capitalism & to interconnected, radical being.

So many ‘eco-books’ disappoint, but not this one!

Shameful that Labour is cutting disability support whilst spending billions on Rosebank & defence.

The simple message for the government is - don’t cut PIP, tax the rich!

If you have used my poetry collection 'WITCH' or my essay collection 'Strangers: Essays on the Human and Nonhuman;' in your teaching, or put in on your syllabus/reading list, would you do me a huge favour and let me know?! For work! Huge gratitude will come your way ...

I can’t believe it took me so long to read Labatut’s ‘When we Cease to Understand the World’ (trans Adrian Nathan West, pub @pushkinpress.com). An utterly stunning, heart-pounding rollercoaster ride through 20thc physics & the mystic strangeness of reality. Read it if you can.

Completely obsessed with Anne De Marcken’s experimental, deeply moving zombie novel w/ @fitzcarraldoeds.bsky.social.

Broke me out of a reading rut I’d been in for a long time, reminded me why we write. Finished it in two days. Run don’t walk.
