Sunset.
This picture doesn’t even come close to how beautiful it was.
Keep looking for the beauty, friends.

2nd daylily bloom of the year. The first got crispy fast in the sun and heat. ID unknown— I used to have labels for all of these, but there was a yard cleanup mishap several years ago. 🌱

Moonrise over the Wasatch mountains. She’s big and bright tonight. (View from my neighborhood, please pardon the power pole.)

Anyone know of a way to relocate wasps? I hate to use chemical warfare agents on them, but it might come to that. Also, if you haven’t opened your patio umbrellas yet, you probably should. Not pictured: the nest that was built into the support pole of the umbrella.

So many wasps.

Young praying mantis on a leaf of my Olympian fig. Mantis is just over an inch (2.5cm) long. Love these guys, seeing them always makes my day :)
(why no praying mantis emoji?)

Some of the phalaenopsis currently in bloom in my house. Most of my phals come from the grocery store; The only one in this post I have a name for is the one with variegated foliage, which is Chia E Yenlin ‘Variegata’ (Sogo Yenlin x Formosa Cranberry). #orchids #gardening #bloomscrolling

Cute round-tailed ground squirrel (Xerospermophilus tereticaudus) foraging for mesquite seeds near the Rillito River Park in Tucson, AZ. Loads of these little critters out and about there, I even saw a few that had climbed into mesquite and palo verde trees to access their seeds at the source.
