Both inhibitors effectively blocked the rewarding memories of alcohol, and dibenzazepine reduced alcohol consumption preference, suggesting the Notch pathway might be a good molecular target for more effective AUD treatments.

Alcohol activates #NotchSignaling in memory circuits, so to test whether pharmacologically inhibiting Notch signaling affects ethanol preference, we used γ-secretase inhibitors #dibenzazepine and #compoundE.

We show that FDA-approved #AlcoholUseDisorder (AUD) treatments #naltrexone and #acamprosate reduce ethanol consumption preference and memories for the rewarding effects of alcohol, underscoring the efficacy of drugs in treating AUD.

Our efficient pipeline is great for in vivo screening for novel pharmacotherapies and investigating the molecular mechanisms through which drug therapies impact alcohol preference #AddictionResearch #Pharmacology #Neuroscience

So grateful to have been a part of organizing the first New England Addiction Neuroscience Research Conference alongside @karlakaun.bsky.social, @dgordonwinder.bsky.social , @mariedoyle.bsky.social, & John Hernandez. I learned so much from the wonderful talks and the discussions they sparked!

Did you know #fruitflies ovulate roughly 70 times a day? This makes #Drosophila a powerful model for studying the #genetics behind #ovulation in humans.

Here's a stunning look at fly ovaries under a #fluorescent microscope. Each blue dot is a cell nucleus. The beauty of #DrosophilaOogenesis!

My interpretation of #HeLa cells: 1st collected from a 31y/o #africanamerican woman, #HenriettaLacks, who was suffering from #cervicalcancer. These #cells are immortal and highly proliferative, making them a great cell line for #research. Learn more here! youtube.com/watch?v=22lG...
