I find them helpful for walking the dog so I can deal with poop bags, but it doesn't get as cold here in the PNW as in some other parts of the country.

Oops - I worded my goal very poorly. Was too sleepy. I want to try to *crochet* some socks, because I'm inspired by people's beautiful knit socks! Totally agree that knitting socks would be a huge leap for a non-knitter.

I love it!! I think the little quilted tea cozy I sewed a few years back gets more use than the rest of my sewing/crocheting projects combined.
