The three Demoratic commissioners said yesterday's orders "ignores the day-to-day reality of discrimination for many working people in this country. No one should face discrimination or be denied opportunity simply because of who they are, how they worship, or whom they love.

New GOP Acting Chair Andrea Lucas said her priorities will "include rooting out unlawful DEI-motivated race and sex discrimination" and "defending the biological and binary reality of sex and related rights, including women’s rights to single‑sex spaces at work."

The bill faced opposition from the tech industry, as well as a number of LGBTQ+ and human rights groups. Some of the groups, including GLAAD and the HRC, sent a letter stating they dropped their opposition due to an update that mitigated concerns they had about the bill's "duty of care" provision
