Maybe he took the long way home to think. He did come in saying “I thought about our talk” so I’ll take it he just wandered for a bit before heading home. Probably had a whole speech (feelings confession???) prepared for Angel.

I think it’s just a defense mechanism from past trauma. Some people when they start to feel connected and comfortable with someone to avoid the heartbreak of them leaving, they leave first. I feel like Husk is that type of person.
