Today, a different chapter from my PhD got published in Biodiversity and Conservation!

This one on the use of co-existing mycophagous mammals as indicators of potential food availability for the critically endangered Gilbert’s potoroo 🦘🍄🍄‍🟫

A whirlwind week! On Wed, I had the privilege of presenting 2 PhD chapters at WA’s Biodiversity Conference!

These looked at the fungal diets of boodies and woylies across a landscape gradient, and an eDNA survey of fungi on Dirk Hartog Island, a recent/future translocation site for these bettongs.

I’m a #reptile pet mum!🦎

This is Buzz and Woody! They’re southern banded knob tail geckos (Nephurus wheeleri) and I’ll be basing my whole personality around them from now on😌

Prior to #ESAus2024, I had a go at making polymer clay earrings for the first time. They’re potoroos in case you can’t tell🫣 But they’ve got nothing on some of the home made/sewn outfits others were rocking!

Petition to have a workshop on DIY #ecologicalfashion at future ecological conferences!

That’s a wrap on my first ESA! Highlights were presenting the first set of results from my PhD, getting to catch up with Mammal Society friends, getting to hear about other mycophagy projects and finishing the week with a species distribution modelling workshop! #ESAus2024
