Painter, climber, helper.
It's greening up in the valley! Time to start thinking about summer plans. If you are the kind of person who buys art, please note that my Colorado paintings are 40% off until June. I am on to working in my summer Maine collection now. And climbing, and battling chipmunks

Here's today's. I have been thinking about various versions of this painting for years. This view is perfect at all times of day, in all seasons... too bad the photo doesn't show the whole painting

OK, two days in a row of painting. Maybe I am turning a corner... this one is 6x8", and I'll probably adjust a couple more things.. but I feel good just getting back to trying.

I am having a hard time summoning the oomph to paint amid the distractions of the country going to hell in a handbasket. But I pushed through it today. It's a wishful painting.... wishing myself into summer and simplicity

The non-ironic wonders of tech #1: using g google translate to translate a photo of our greek washing machine settings! I am happily flabbergasted.

Wild cyclamen grow here! And at least one old Citroen braves the hairpin turns and super skinny alleys.

We are not in the USA ... and it sure feels nice. There's some sort of festival going on... it feels amazing to relax.

Sooo nice to leave our snowglobe for a day of sunshine and limestone!

Driving around my part of the world is pretty danged awe inspiring. I went climbing at Shelf road yesterday. A ridiculous drive, except so worth it for a day in the sunshine with friends

0 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. Which congressperson should I call next, about what issue?

In these crazy, appalling times, Someone still buys art that makes them feel good. My art even! I hope it helps, a little. I'll keep making it, regardless. This one found a new home last week. Please folks, support independent makers of things which make you happy. Buy from the little guy.

We have received at least 18" of snow so far today....

I am having a hard time trying to balance my desire to stay informed and make my voice heard, with my need to be able to sleep at night, to find joy, to go about ordinary life. I will start phone calls again on Wednesday.

I made a commitment in December. So far, I am sticking with it. The progress IS the payoff. And it's giving me an outlet for some of the frustration felt at our Nation's wholesale destruction
January 31, 2025 at 4:31 PM
In the midst of all the outrages, the calls to our congresspeople and to businesses which did, or didn't, abandon DEI, please do things that bring you joy, and post about them. Keep our feeds from becoming a cacaphony of horror.

It was actually PLEASANT outside today! And I made a lousy painting.

I just called Target and spoke with a nice customer service rep to condemn their rollback of commitment DEI. It was easy, and my imput will be sent up the chain. Here is their number if you'd like to do the same. 800-440-0680.
Costco and Kroger continue to commit to DEI. I will give them my $

Here is the high school competition, on the routes we set. I love seeing the kids all encouraging each other, sharing beta, cheering even as their opponents surpass them.

All week I have been routesetting. I definitely don't feel 30 anymore. I ache all over. But it has been so very much fun. I got to create experiences that climbers will play on for the next month or so. It's a great challenge to compose and imagine and build them. And fun to hang with the cool kids

I've been miserable for the second time this winter with a head cold. Anyone interested in any online game etc, please reach out... it's been -15f or colder every morning lately, so I haven't been missing much I guess.
