That's even ignoring the long term side effects that a much higher percentage of COVID patients have. Some of the people I know who denied COVID the hardest can barely breathe, barely walk, barely talk; all because of a virus that is "basically the flu".

That number makes the odds ~40x as high to die from 1 COVID infection than winning a large prize on an average scratch off ticket.
Considering most people I know haven't just had COVID once, but 2-5 times each, that makes the odds now 1 in 50, 1 in 33, 1 in 25 or even 1 in 20!
