Photographer, lover of nature, vintage stuff, abandoned spaces, quiet places, found photos. If it looks like it’s from another era, I’m pointing my camera at it.

On a recent camping trip in Northern Wisconsin, we had the pleasure of having a Rose-breasted Grosbeak nest above our friend’s site next to ours. Apparently both male and female share incubation duties on the nest. I set up a tripod and tried to catch them at shift change. #birdphotography

This last week saw the blooming of Trillium in my area. Seeing the white or purple flowers dot the brown landscape is one of my favorite sights yet always somehow comes as a surprise (oh look, Trillium!) It welcomes a new season to the woods.

VOTE AGAINST PROHIBITION ghost sign in Fells Point, Baltimore. Painted in the 1920s when alcohol became illegal via the 18th Amendment and Baltimoreans protested. Apparently, when the ban did go into effect, lawmakers in Baltimore did not pass legislation to enforce the federal measure. #ghostsigns

I finally got a couple shots of a Pileated woodpecker the other day. A bird that eluded me until now. Turns out, I actually photographed two.
The first shot, a male which has a red stripe along its cheek. The second shot is a female which lacks this stripe.

I got to see a bit of Baltimore and track down this huge, multi-layered, Cubanola 5¢ Cigars ghost sign. This was protected under siding for many years so the color is amazing! #ghostsigns #photography

A couple recent sightings. A Barred Owl and Cooper’s Hawk. The perspective of the owl shot is deceiving. He was directly over my head looking down at me. #wildlifephotography

I’m welcoming in spring with a reminder of some of the color that’ll be returning soon. Here’s a photo from July of a Goldfinch eating a flower.

Some random photos from this week. We had lots of odd weather here in Wisconsin. It went from 70°s, to crazy winds, to a couple inches of snow today. The Sandhill cranes came back in force this week, and the moon was red for a bit. Only the squirrels were balanced.

This clearly illustrates what Instagram has done to still photographers.
A photo I recently posted was also posted a little over a year ago as well. Look at what happened to the reach of non-followers! #instagram
