I saw lot of "slop" during the .com era too but I was hopeful for the future that the web holds for the society. I don't feel that way with AI... Is it because I'm older or is there something different this time around?

Soon, majority of Internet will be synthetic content (AI generated content). It will create a demand for human created content. When there is a demand, a marketplace will arise. This will create yet another divide, people who has access to that marketplace and people who doesn't.
