Happy 250th to the United States Army!!!

On June 14, 1775, the Second Continental Congress responded to the battles of Lexington and Concord by establishing six companies of riflemen, officially creating the Continental Army.

Looking forward to everyone turning up to support "Battle Road" in two weeks, especially the wonderful team of NPS Historic Weapons Supervisors! They allow the living history participants to safely and swiftly interpret the events of that fateful day in real-time!

Reworking an old round-blocked hat for our 1775 Virginia Minute/Rifle Company impression. We've removed the old lining that was greasy, decaying, and inaccurate, to replace it with a new lining using a more accurate pattern.

Stay tuned as we finish relining the round hat and begin to trim it out...

Many black men enlisted in the Continental Army for the duration of the Rev War, despite the circumstances that they faced in their communities, or what affected their families back home.

One such man was Pompey Black, who enlisted for the war in the 2nd New Jersey Continental Line in March 1779.

Our copy arrived today and we're looking forward to diving in! The Rhode Island Regiment camped near our property, and several Virginia companies who were integrated during the AWI also operated near our home.

Congratulations to Mr. Rees and Mr. Troiani, on publishing this fine work!
