Getting through this with everyone else.
Going to go with Chaucer’s Tales in the original English and one of the Pokémon books from when Ash visited the Orange islands.

A few years ago they somehow figured out how to get the occasional banger and they’ve sadly managed to keep doing it since.

i followed three pro-Brexiteers on Twitter back in the day who actually had genuine and cogent beliefs. One just left Twitter in the year after the referendum and the other two came to publicly regret the vote.

A “fun” manifestation of that is that is that Labour in 1964, 1974 and 2024 all won with fewer votes than they got in the heavy defeat they suffered in the election before, while Blair got fewer votes in 1997 than Major in 1992.

New York system really not one to emulate! Don’t think I’ve seen that take before.

It must be a huge relief for our politicians to know they can once again avoid making any tough decisions.

Hurrah for being able to can kick the can a little bit further down the road again!

The landlord association statement is so weak it makes it hard to see the downsides.

Respectfully would argue that the Brexit referendum itself was a symptom of a political class that had withdrawn from governing and instead entertained itself with spectacle politics. (Wrote this in 2018 with @martinlodge.bsky.social). www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1...

He was elected! Surely if there’s one thing the country should have taken away from the Tory knifings, it’s that you elect the party.

Hope that they still want to do things with the devolution white paper.

It would be unbelievable fiction if it wasn’t true. “A mass base obsessed with pedophilia in elite circles elected famous rich person who ran Miss Teen USA, twice.”

Everyone who went to uni after 2012 should be compensated for the change in tuition fees. Even less warning.

I think I stopped reading a couple years before then, I just remember it popping up on my timeline and really thinking “wow this is actively dumb”.

Yes, in what situation does he talk to immigration twice!?
November 11, 2025 at 3:04 PM
There are two possible cases. 1) his Dublin-London was a domestic flight for CTA reasons, but in that case you only go through immigration one way (not twice as he claims to have) 2) Dublin-London is an international flight that lands you airside, in which case you don’t talk to immigration at all!

It was probably a combination of Covid and the Twitter takeover. The post where I realised anything interesting was gone was his post after the Hamas attack, where he wrote what he seemed to believe was an original and insightful post about his revelation that Gaza was poorer than the West Bank.
