Delighted to see the motion I brought to council to declare a climate emergency and develop this sustainability plan come to fruition. As chair of the environment and sustainability working group myself and other members laid the foundations for this. www.lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk/w/have-your-...

For me the highlight of 2024 was taking part in the biggest day of industrial action in a generation. Unfortunately the Executive continues to drag its feet making similar action almost inevitable. Wishing you all a happy new year. 🙌🏼

An important documentary reminding us that the products we buy have a carbon footprint and waste and resource consequences. We have colluded with unsustainable ignorance about these realities but it’s time to act. Check this doc out!

Just to be clear, when you hear about the potential for public sector industrial action returning in the near future this is the legacy of austerity and pay freezes year after year while inflation continued to rise. Teachers/ health workers in NI are the worst paid on these islands- that’s not on!

Just finished Sally Rooney’s new book, Intermezzo. Some familiar themes, but also a beautiful exploration of grief and the complexities of sibling relationship dynamics.👌🏻 #IrishTwitter

The Executive always dragging their feet of public sector pay. Teachers in NI are the worst paid on the IK and there is an emerging recruitment and retention crisis as a consequence. It’s as simple as this, the Executive will need to address pay parity or face massive industrial action.
