Watched "True Things"[2021], pretty rushed finale but overall good little drama with the usually excellent Ruth Wilson as rudderless 30-something who falls under spell of rogueish outsider and mercifully outgrows him

Watched "Tightrope"[1984] pretty standard 80s cop fair going after a serial killer around the usual New Orleans haunts, made interesting by Clint walking the tightrope of being a sensitive family man who, like the killer, is also a bit of a kinky weirdo himself.

Watched "The Five Devils"[2022] a movie that demands your attention with its shifting timelines and for once I wouldn't have minded some dodgy makeup to remind of which timeline we were in. There's a good concept in there, a kid with a gift for scents using her powers over her troubled family

10 years of the Paris terrorist attacks this week and decided to watch a movie on the subject from the pile. "Revoir Paris"[2024]. Virginie Efira is the survivor of an attack and goes on a journey to recover her memory & come to terms. No attempt at why, just a drama of new connections in tragedy.

What was Jeff Buckley doing playing a golf course in Scotland anyway?

Passengers of the Night [2022]🇫🇷.

An album of new Lemonheads material out almost 20 years after the last one, time to give a listen to "Love Chant"

Comencé a mirar la serie belga "Into the Night".

Unsolicited Flick Pick

Watched "Maldoror"[2024], excellent, based on true story Belgian crime movie with the terrific Anthony Bajon (from "Junkyard Dog"). A bit of inspiration taken from Zodiac with the obsessive cop following every little lead over a long period of time and at immense personal cost

Just been reminded that the practise of pop bands printing the lyrics to their songs on the album sleeve, started by the Beatles, was inspired by a Spanish teacher hoping to help his students learn English

Watching "The Juror" [1996], seems dreadful but James Gandilfini and peak Demi Moore, how could you not keep watching

Anthology 4 tracklist here for all the Beatle people. Purple ones are previously released, which will please no-one. I just wanna hear In My Life take 1.

Instant recall of Brass Eye sketch set in Coswick every time I read those "the country/city/West is in decline" tweets. 'And last year, the mayor gave them a goldmine. It actually worked for a bit, this, until someone clogged it up with sick!'
