Digging this new experience of Twitter circa 2009. While we're all still working out the etiquette, I'll follow people back who follow me, but for now DMs only from people I know.
There are infinite versions of hetero masculinity that don't read as normative, and therefore many people assume the man in question is gay. Certainly true for women as well, but no personal experience there. But it's esp cool to not be oppressively hetero as a classroom professor. Compliment.

Your column seems totally right far as it goes. My big question is: why now, Susie? Why in Vanity Fair? All of that reporter's previous CoS interviews have either involved EX CoS's, or people speaking only on deep background, or both. So what's her game? Goals? Certainly doesn't protect DJT.

I've watched the full BSG reboot series 3 times. It's not in the top tier of truly incredible post-2000 cable TV, but for me it's the best modern SF series by far. Great exploration of post-humanity as well as post-9/11 security-state ?s. Cylons as monotheists & humans polytheists was awesome.

You'll all will be comforted to know that THIS photo was taken (via zoom lens) by a guy sitting securely in a dirigible. I mean it was the Hindenburg, yes, but it wasn't explody yet.

That may be, but kitty is clearly unimpressed with the savings. Predators don't do savings. When they can't do Whole Foods they just go hungry.

I think people misunderstand. Johnson has an acute hearing problem now, as does Homan and most of the cabinet. They've also developed dyslexia, so they can't read. We need to be more compassionate. Nobody in the admin can hear or read anything except, unfortunately, Stephen Miler.

Any time now, Elon can go back to just managing his companies. Or is that moment gone forever?

"Would you bring me another grenade, if I asked?" "Yes."

"Would you give me the next season of Severance, like right now?"

"One moment, Carol....Ok, it'll be ready in 3 hours. Does that work?"

My GF taught at SIUC in the 90s, and it was already a standout awful school in terms of the admin's values & priorities. This doesn't surprise me at all, and there will be no intervention from above. And yes, the AI hype is heavy everywhere in edu; some places are resisting better than others.

GF and I are alternating between Pluribus and The Beast in Me, so we can watch two episodes of each at a time. Pretty crazy pairing. I do tend to get aspects of the female lead character confused though.

If you're a man, eating is totally gay.

Sadly, after the past 48 hours my ability to take RFK Jr seriously as a threat -- which he is, so this is a problem -- has taken a very big hit. Now it's all about the graphic sexual poetry. I'd finally gotten over the whale head, but this is too much.

Flying a fighter jet and being an astronaut are both totally gay, if you don't also have Nazi tattoos.

I'd still love to see how much traction this gets. It's a perfect quote.

There is a very long tradition of hard-core 'masculinity', going back to the Greeks and Romans, which says that Real Men don't need women.

"And where did both of these men learn to shoot?"

"Sir, in the Marines, sir!"

"In the Marines! Outstanding. Just goes to show what a motivated Marine and his rifle can accomplish!"

I haven't been around for every moment of this debate, but has Tom at any point made it clear that he's invested in small-r or classical republicanism, and THAT was most of the motivation for the Senate, while his critics are implicitly or explicitly invested in (Jeffersonian) liberal democracy?

Federalist 35: "It should go without saying, that all of these Arrangements are only necessary insofar as it remains impractical for the populace to be governed by Cats"

I never conceived that Marco could equal or exceed the Terrible Four cabinet noms in sheer ghastliness, but I'm starting to. Esp since they were ALWAYS insane infantile non-entities, suddenly elevated to power, whereas Marco was a standard-issue neo-con 'intellectual' prez candidate. Stunning.

I think she loses 90% of her impact now, and I'm quite disappointed w/this -- I'd had no idea how MTG was planning to win again, but hoped that she had some secret theory of the case. Turns out, no. Too bad.

Well, that will be challenging since Mandani will also be Trump's new Chief of Staff (while of course still running NYC).

I think "federalism" becomes pretty blurry the way you're using it here. This isn't about ensuring state-state vs nation-state power. It's about ensuring small-population-state vs large-population-state power. 'Protection for the minority' is at least as objectively accurate as 'federalist'

still benedict's best roll, in my decidedly minority opinion. To me, every other compelling char of his is a version of Sherlock.
