But I need people to think about how systemic ageism IS comparable to systemic racism. And they will not begin to consider it. NO one resisting should be thought of as "less than". We have to stay respectful. I have always known fascism would come to this country. My family was sent to Belzec...

You must be taller than I am. I've always been small; I get patted on the head; I get called "Sweetheart" by 25-year-old men; I have to fight to get my opinion heard. And it has completely used me up. I am not cute, or harmless. It was like that woman was an anomaly.

I should be entitled to a feeling without having to post my genetic profile. Why is it unaware? It's real. Old people are being eliminated because we are seen as drains on resources, and every time we are dismissed it makes it easier. BTW - I'm a Jew, and Native American, with black relatives.

We are - all races of old people - being quietly murdered by being warehoused and losing our Medicaid and having our food pantries shut down and eventually our Soc. Sec. And while it's happening, we get reduced - molecule by molecule - by dismissal and being condescended to and disrespected.

I have black nieces and nephews that I fear for every day. I am educated. And if you think no one hates Jews, then I suggest YOU could use some educating. I am just waiting to have to wear a yellow star on my coat. Ageism and antisemitism are the last acceptable biases in our current society.

Look - I have been called a dirty Jew and a kike all of my life - now the younger generations hate me because they think that means I support what Israel is doing, so I rarely mention it. When I say something else hurts me as much, I mean it. I have context. The current regime is killing old people.

Yeah. My wish for them is to live to be old and see how they get treated, and then remember how they totally discounted the experiences of someone who has been on the front lines fighting against the things I'm being chastised for. Being ageist is the last acceptable prejudice I guess.

I wish you had had one. I call it the club no one wants to belong to, but at least folks find out they aren't alone. And what has worked for one person might help another. I wish I had known more about Alz. when my mom started to succumb to it. I wouldn't have taken so much so personally.

I run a caregiver group. I think I'll bring that up with them.

When my mom got Alzheimer's, it was the last series of books she read, so we had all the books. She shared that interest with my nieces. I feel so sad to see such narrow thinking from the person who wrote those stories.

To me - a 72 year old woman - the term "little old lady" is the equivalent of the "N word". Take a look around. We're out on the streets resisting in large numbers and we really aren't adorable. Raise your consciousness. GEEZ!!!
