Pop Culture is so fractured now, there is little understanding of why Hulk Hogan was such a Huge Deal. There aren’t really any crossover Superstars anymore. Just stars of their own thing. HH transcended to a level beyond even someone like Taylor Swift.

PREDATOR is one of my Mount Rushmore Of Movies movies.

KILLER OF KILLERS does not disappoint.

FINALLY, someone (Dan Trachtenberg) has figured out how to build a franchise properly around this character/concept.

Catching a theatre experience for the first time in a while.

Too long, I reckon.

Let’s see this how this final impossible mission works out…

Tony Gilroy has cracked the code for streaming. 3 episodes at a time, telling an overarching narrative with individual plots that all serve the Grand Narrative. It’s ridiculous how good ANDOR has been and is getting.

A good way to honor Val Kilmer would be to seek out and watch THE SALTON SEA. It’s a product of its time, but it’s the film that made me realize he had real talent and depth beyond the popular stuff he was in.

Would pair well with KISS KISS BANG BANG as a double feature.

How do *you* contemplate your mid-life crisis? For me, it’s dreaming about sports cards that are way too overpriced but that if I were a millionaire I wouldn’t hesitate to buy in a second. Like this one.

Pratt is not a bad actor, no matter what film twitter would have you believe about his personal life.

I regret to inform you that this movie is good, actually. The rare bird that could benefit from being maybe 10 or 15 minutes longer. They spend a good amount of time on the set up, but final act is li...

I know they've always been tools of runaway capitalism or whatever, but why does every Super Bowl commercial being leaked 2 weeks before the game bum me out so much? Like, we all used to just enjoy them as they happened. One of the last "communal experiences" in culture. Gone.

Thanks, dicks.

Lots to love about THE THICKET, if you can get past the “Streaming Service Produced” of it all.

I love that Tubi ponied up the money to make this, but I sure wish they could do like ones long set of commercials at the beginning of a film like Peacock instead of multiple ad breaks. At the very le...

I wanna know the name of the idiot who kept Ichiro from being unanimous.
Congratulations to the three players elected to the Hall of Fame by the BBWAA: Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, and Billy Wagner!

You side with oppressors or the oppressed.

There is only one correct choice.

The words of Dr.King reverberate through time.
We must fight to find hope. It’s there! Yeah, you want to curl up into a ball of anger, outrage, or numbness and who-gives-a-shit-anyway-ness.

A ★★★★½ review of Den of Thieves 2: Pantera (2025)
Kind of a unicorn. The rare sequel that improves on the original. This movie asks a simple question: can a man change?  Well, can he? Good lord do I love it when a movie paints an obvious picture but ...

A ★★ review of Last Seen Alive (2022)
This movie is stupid, and not in the fun way. Too predictable and only saved by the fact Gerard Butler gives it his all, as always. This movie is so dumb and bad I’m surprised it didn’t get a sequel l...

You love to see people discover things. It’s an honor to hear about, really. It’s never too late to give That Movie you’ve been meaning to see a shot. Truly could change your life.
I watched UNFORGIVEN for the first time today, and I don't know if you've heard, but really good. :P Seriously, each individual scene is wonderful, crackling, and important, and it builds a wonderful, crackling, important thing.

I kinda love this movie. A deep, abiding comfort washes over me when I see Gerard Butler being such a loser asshole cop. Beautiful work.

We need and frankly deserve Gerard Butler and Russell Crowe making a movie together. Some hardboiled actioner with wit and style.

Fuck it, make it a full on HEAT remake. I don’t care. I’ll buy every ticket.

Appalled to realize I’ve reached the age where I hold on to useless little containers and shit because “hey, you never know when I’m gonna need something like this.”

I will never need something like this.

Happy New Year, everyone. Last movie of 2024 for me was a doozie. I e seen it before but it still had me nearly hyperventilating dealing with the tension of the third act. Masterclass filmmaking from one of our Greats. Keep making movies, Sir Ridley. We need ya.
