Sure, so when damage is calculated in FF7 let's say for example physical damage. It takes the party member's defense into account before you get a final number. Magic Defense straight up does not add to your Spirit stat at all, making all Magic Defense on armor basically 0 and therefore worthless.

0% bugs is how you know whoever tweeted this never played the OG version of the game. One of the most well known bugs in the game made magic defense a useless stat. Hell another bug made the Darkness status effect on enemies not even work.
