I think we need to jump ahead a few steps and bolster our military (can't believe I'm saying this) but if you look at the trajectory of what's coming, it's not good.

Fine, but in your characterization of Girard as a cop, you appear to be laying the blame for this at his feet as though he endorsed this, which he did not. He continued to seek cures for this problem though his writing to the end of his days, though I wouldn't say he was that successful.
