Great anecdote from director John McNaughton, when filming the parts in lower wicker drive all of the lighting equipment was from a crew member who was also shooting commercials for the Bears. At the end of the day he would just take all of his equipment and bring it to them.

Gonna recommend Peter Hyams The Relic. A solid monster horror movie that is like Jurassic Park meets Alien/The Thing set in the Field Museum here in Chicago.

My favorite of these Japanese illustrations of American history is the one’s done for Ulysses S. Grant’s trip to Japan that tells the history of the Civil War(with some artistic liberty).

Finally watched The Nile Hilton Incident, the first of Tarik Saleh’s “Cairo Trilogy”. A good political thriller on the waning days of Hosni Mubarak‘s regime, the corruption/abuse that fueled the 2011 revolution and the precarious life of Sudanese migrant workers in Egypt at the whims of such system.

Noticed that Simon Mann, British mercenary and most notably for being involved in the 2004 Equatorial Guinea coup attempt, died this month. He briefly appeared in Paul Greengrass’s Bloody Sunday film portraying Derek Wilford.
