Trying to make sense of the world through lived experiences and listening.

Not sure of next steps or where to start but figured I would see what happens. Join me (or don’t) as I shit post my way to enlightenment. 😂

There isn’t even going to be…

• a functioning society
• a planet left
• basic human rights (or decency)
• clean air to breathe
• a livable wage (or prices)
• a middle class
• a democracy
• social security
• common sense left

“It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.”

— Sherlock Holmes

Reading comprehension is wonderful…Take a second to see where you went wrong. It was about shutting down personally, not 47.

It is and people don’t realize how debilitating it can be unless you or someone you know goes through a flare up. One thing that’s helps me to disconnect is finding those that cover it a compact way. My favorite is Lisa who sends a newsletter via email with major events and daily news summaries!

I wish health and happiness for all three of you. I saved this resource from a previous job; it helped a patient’s mother find support and resources. Caregivers often face so much and, without outlets, can develop Caregiver Stress Syndrome. Take care of yourself and stay strong. 💙

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. Start with one small action, like taking a deep breath or writing down how you feel. Creating space for yourself, even briefly, can help. Therapy helps (it’s an outlet at minimum). You’re doing more than you realize (new job!). Be kind to yourself (you’re not alone).

When I felt like lashing out, I created distance and wrote a letter to express my thoughts and feelings. The person rarely listened to my side, but writing helped me release all emotions without expecting a reply or getting interrupted. It felt freeing, like pruning a dead branch from a tree.

Break everything into small actions. Focus on one step at a time, like opening a window or writing down how you feel. Let others know you need space, and take breaks to reset. Be kind to yourself. Self-care is important! It is okay to ask for support and to feel this way (you are not alone).

She also uses omega-3, ergonomic tools, heat/cold compresses, and leans into hobbies while avoiding heavy news when needed. You’re doing so much by simply trying and don’t underestimate your strength. Wishing you moments of relief each and every day! 💙

(Sorry the pharmacist in me wants to help 🤣)

I understand how overwhelming this must feel. My aunt has RA and shared techniques that help her manage pain and stress the last time. She focused on what she could control: deep breathing, mindfulness, low-impact exercises like swimming or yoga with her child, and prioritizing sleep and self-care.

Crosswords or Killer Sudoku are also two my partner and I do together every night which are fun and get your mind off things! We used to go on walks or for drives but it is way to cold here to do that. 🤣

(7) Lean on Community: Join groups or discussions to share the load and amplify your impact.

(8) Play the Long Game: Change takes time. Small, steady actions add up. Every step counts.

I felt her advice was worth sharing, especially since so many are feeling this way after just the first week.

(4) Filter Information: Use concise newsletters or briefs to stay updated without overload.

(5) Set Boundaries: It’s okay to step back when overwhelmed (some days, staying informed is enough).

(6) Rotate Focus: Care about many causes? Focus on one at a time, like environmental policy, then shift.
