Honestly, fair point. I do know a lot of people who are clinging to the false hope that he’ll actually fix something instead of it just being a tiny symbolic victory without actual substance, which is very frustrating

When a progressive that people put their faith in gets into power and they end up no better than Obama was, I think that will turn people off from electoral politics and hopefully towards actual action

Honestly, I think a victory on a national scale for someone like an AOC or Mamdani, followed by the massive disappointment of them inevitably not achieving anything, will do wonders for true socialist parties. Biggest hangup is the defeatism and frankly the terminal online-ness of Gen Z lefties
