Col. Demas Craw, USAAC, XII Grnd Sup Cmd, 11/8/42, French Morocco. A volunteer attempting to negotiate a ceasefire with Vichy-French in Operation Torch, Medal of Honor awarded. Accompanied first wave of troops, fired on multiple times, but continued to save American and French lives. Died a hero.

2’dLt Ralph Talbot, USMC, 1’st Marine AvFor, 10/14/18, France. Medal of Honor -having shot down one German a week earlier, was attacked by 12 on a bombing raid after suffering engine problems. Shot down another German - died on a test flight 10/25/18 - 17 days before the armistice. American hero.
