Not a doomer, but as someone who came out during his first term, the world we live is as an American is more violent, reactive, and stupid than last time. We lost untold thousands to COVID. the cold comfort of "civil Republicans" is gone. People are disappearing into camps. People are only mobilizing en masse when a talking head gets censored. It's been all but said explicitly that our president is a pedo, and hung out with other rich pesos, and he still sits in relative comfort while I and my peers scrape by and have to check the news to even see if we're going to be able to get our meds, or if my existence has turned me into an arrestable criminal. And even if I do see the day he's no longer in office, the "opposing party has shown me little to give me any faith that any of the changes to my daily life will be upended...
