RTS is fine. Give it a few years and I think we'll see other attempts that do better than Stormgate ever did.

I think a stronger emphasis on Co-Op would bring in new people to the genre, but Stormgate especially missed the mark with onboarding, cooperative play, and casual friendliness.

Seems like their issues are rampant multiplayer cheating and slow patch cadence for balance issues.

Really? I think the RTS audience side was explicitly clear with what they wanted: A captivating story and world through a campaign, and a data supported emphasis on more co-operative game components. FGS missed the mark with their monetization style, wide scope, and poor EA quality.

They didn't help themselves by having multiple of their employees, including their CEO Tim Morten, post artificial reviews under renamed testing accounts, in January of this year prior to the start of Steam's Strategy Next Fest.

They've done a great deal to lose community trust by astroturfing.
