Yes. Some of us may not have heard it when it was originally released and when someone goes "umm ackchyually" you can just hit them "I think you'll find the album version was this year, checkmate". Totally justifiable :D

I've been listening to it for a week straight now, it's ridiculously good 🤘

Fun fact (which I just realised two days ago): it was produced by Jordan Fish who was with BMTH for nearly a decade. Definitely worth keeping an eye on anything that has his name attached to it.

I'd suggest adding Bring Me The Horizon and Poppy :)

Definitely agreed, especially after you've written a bunch and got a hang of it.
There's always a point of diminishing returns and the more you do it the sooner you reach that point with every new song. After a while rewrites don't really add much.

Hard to break through that mentality though because if you don't do a wall of noise your stuff will sound out of line, kinda like the self-propelling loudness war of the 90s where it just kept getting louder for no reason other than to be louder than the next guy.

Lol true but FWIW your songs still sound amazing years later. Hard to say if there'll be as much longevity to overcompressed and overdistorted stuff of today.
I'm sure there'll be gems but a lot of it might get drowned out in a sea of noise while The Dark Half is one of my fav songs to this day.

Mastodon should be in 3 federated seats.

Agreed, it's like a new phase of loudness wars till you can't hear instruments.

Although I have to admit there's something about the overly distorted stuff that draws me in.
It is overplayed in metal/djent but there's been a lot of pop/hyperpop that abuses TF out of distortion and it works wonders.

Not sure if djent or just modern metal but I listened to Poppy's Negative Spaces album yesterday and it sounds good (although clipping is definitely part of the style now).

Also Xander Raymond Charles - Everyone Has A Plan really surprised me with great production.

Any recommendations from you?
