Preprint alert! Deviance detection DOESN NOT occur in response to oddball sequences that alternate fast amplitude modulated (AM) and slow-AM vocalizations. Frontal and Auditory Cortices still can decode within-sequence fastAM - slowAM transitions based on spike timing but not on spike count.
