On another occasion, Paul’s friend Belinda visited & gave him a postcard-sized drawing of the band Pus, the group Paul and Dave belonged to before forming Reagan Youth. Here’s a video taken at Calvary Hospital, where Paul talks about the drawing, Belinda, and the NYHC book. 4/4

Paul loved the book and spent hours thumbing through it, studying the photos, and reading the first-hand accounts (including a few of his own) from the punk rockers who helped forge the New York scene in the late ’70s & ’80s. /3

On one of those visits, Noah Sheetz—who, as we’ve often shared, has been working on a Punk Rock Cookbook who will feature Paul & Dave I. of Reagan Youth—popped in and gave Paul his copy of New York Hardcore by Tony Rettman. /2

attitude the show went on, and the crowd joined in, singing along to the tunes, because by the end of the day, the songs from “A Collection of Pop Classics” are great sing-alongs. 😉

Back in late 2015, Reagan Youth played a punk rock festival in Philadelphia, PA, where the singer at the time sang a few words, froze, and eventually walked off stage. This event ended up being yet another chaotic punk rock moment for Reagan Youth.

Throughout the entire set, Paul was literally teaching the guys notes and parts of the songs as they played. The lineup winged it, and it was raw, and chaotic and it was clear some of the crowd really dug it.

and, at the last minute, asked Chuck—who was then playing in the legendary political peace punk band A.P.P.L.E. to play bass, and recruited Adam from the Connecticut punk band Stressbomb to take over drums.
