Character study of a possum cowboy. In each study, the possum examines himself in the mirror, plays the harmonica, is startled, falls toward a cactus, plays dead, and holds his tail anxiously.

The child is missing a sock, but he's surrounded himself with small comforts--pillows, magazines, a mug with a warm drink. He's completely lost in the game that he's playing. A young girl sits on her knees on a pink bathroom countertop. She's looking in a mirror trying to put on lipstick. Her lips are puckered up and she's doing a terrible job with it! Lipstick is smeared on the mirror and she's surrounded by a mess. Q-tips, eyeshadow, brushes, nail polish, toilet paper, toothpaste, are scattered all about the countertop creating a huge mess. There's a gray cat curled up in the sink next to the girl who is busy grooming his fur. A mother tries to feed her daughter in a high chair. The mom looks exhausted--a bead of sweat drips down her side temple and there are bags under her eyes. She holds a can of carrot baby food and tries to spoon in some to her child. The child, however, isn't having it! She is screaming and throwing up her hands. There are splatters of food all over the walls, floor, and both the mom and the child. Rereading this book for the new year. I forgot how delightfully *funny* it is while also being honest and encouraging. My top recommendation to any aspiring writer (or any creative person!).

A note written in cursive that states, “Dear Reagan, thank you for letting me borrow ‘Peril at Price Manor.’ it was such a good book! I hope to get more books suggested by you. your friend, [name hidden]” The name is covered by a copy of the book “Peril at Price Manor” by Laura Parnum.

Still working on this li’l blockprint series for a group exhibit. Sixteen artists submit a series of miniature works inspired by “myth.”
